In this blog for budding or current authors, you'll have access to helpful information to help you learn what it takes to be an author and what you need to do to get the word out.

For instance, do you wonder:

  • Should I self-publish or go with a traditional publisher?
  • What are the best events for authors?
  • How do I find an agent?
  • Do I need a website, and what's the quickest and cheapest way to set one up?
  • Should I have a blog, and where do I host it?
  • How do I get the word out about my book?
  • What is a platform and how do I build it?

Bookcover You may be wondering why I, an author, journalist, health coach and life coach, creating a blog that gives Help for Authors.

Well, ever since my book SUGAR SHOCK! was published in Jan. 2007 and it reached the bestseller lists on Amazon and BarnesAndNoble.com, many authors and would-be authors have approached me with a plethora of questions such as those cited above.

Then, when people learn that I've attended more than 20 conferences and spent thousands of dollars (there went my savings) to learn how to become a happening author, they're curious as to what events I recommend the most and what they should do first.

When aspiring or soon-to-be-published authors learn that only am I an author but I'm also a certified life coach who helps authors, they come to me for help, hoping that I'll help them cut through the clutter and figure out how to map out their course.

In fact, this just happened the other day yet again with a writer friend, whom I reconnected with after years of not chatting.

This gave me an idea. Because you keep quizzing me and seeking me out for tips and advice, I'm now unveiling my new blog, Help for Authors.

In addition, I'm also available for Coaching for Authors. In fact, it would be my honor to serve you.

If you're a company or person who helps authors, I'd love to hear from you, too, with information, because authors want to know which programs and services I recommend.

Please check back at my Help for Authors blog two or three times a week for info about conferences and tips just for aspiring authors and already published authors.

I also invite you to keep coming here, to my main blog, www.SugarShockBlog.com, where I post more often and where you can get helpful links, empowering tidbits, tips to break free of your sugar addiction and more.
