Fructose as Foe? New Book Sheds Light on HFCS

An intriguing new book just came out on April 1 about fructose. Entitled The Sugar Fix: The High-Fructose Fallout That’s Making You Fat and Sick, it’s penned by Richard Johnson, M.D., a practicing physician and clinical scientist for over a quarter of a century.
Previously chief of nephrology and director of renal transplantation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Dr. Johnson is now chief of nephrology, hypertension, and transplantation at the University of Florida in Gainesville of the University of Florida College of Medicine.
I haven’t seen the book yet, but according to the UF press release, Dr. Johnson has come up with a low-fructose (but not low-carb) diet that he thinks will help people lose weight and could also prevent diabetes and heart disease.
Stay tuned, because I’m hoping to bring him on my Stop Sugar Shock Radio Show.
