Harvard Students Crave Cereals

Oh goodness!

Harvard students are pining for Froot Loops, Cap’n Crunch, and Frosted Flakes, the Boston Globe reports.

What, you may ask?

Well, disgruntled cereal fans are upset that their university — to save money — has swapped their favorite brand-name cereals with less expensive, healthier options.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this all this cereal fuss a bit misguided? Don’t college students at one of the most prestigious universities in the nation have other more important concerns? Don’t they sound like addicts upset that their favorite fix was taken away from them?

  1. I just started eating cereal again–Cheerios which don’t have the amount of sugar the other sugary ones do. When I’m done with a bowl, I can’t help but pour myself to a second bowl. I’m cutting out white flour and sugar again and going back onto Atkins. The minute I got off it, the weight came back on.

  2. Sorry to say that I’m not a huge fan of Cheerios even though it is better than other cereals.
Even though Cheerios does have only 1 gram of sugar (which is nice) and 3 grams of fiber (also promising) and some vitamins added back in, it however does contain 22 grams of simple carbs. Simple carbs turn to sugar quickly and in effect act very much like sugar.
Read my other post about some cereals I do like, one of which is made by a major American company.
