L.A. Mulls Over Idea of Following in New York’s Footsteps and Banning Trans Fats

Very cool. The city of L.A. is contemplating following in New York City’s footsteps. According to Healthoma.com, L.A. Counmty supervisors are "considering whether it would be possible to restrict trans fats from restaurants there."

Previously, I wrote here about the Big Apple’s movement to boot trans fat from the city’s eateries.

Anyhow, as you may already know by now (and I hope you do), trans fats are frequently found in processed carbs such as donuts, cookies, crackers, other baked goods, in addiiton to French fries and other fried food in restaurants and cafeterias.

Research definitively connects trans fats with heart disease so you really do want to steer clear of the stuff.

Congrats to L.A. for considering this important measure.
