Sure enough, my suspicions were correct.
I just came back from the neurologist, who gave me a verdict that explain my headaches, vertigo, sudden fatigue and minor concentration issues after my scary July 4 collision with a glass (that had no stickers on it.)
"Post-concussive syndrome," he pronounced. (It's also called post concussion syndrome.)
I'm now on doctor-ordered bed rest, drinking lots of liquids — and you'll love this, "don't spend a lot of time cooking." (He didn't mention no blogging!)
As for reading, he said, "Well, don't read War and Peace." (Pretty cool to get a doctor with a sense of humor!)
In other words, I'm on doctor's orders to be a couch potato! That's a challenge for this go-getter, who seeks to make a difference. But, frankly, my aching and dizzy head thanks him!
Oh, and I'm disappointed, because for now, I have to hold off training for my 100-mile bike ride to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
But my prominent emotion is GRATITUDE! I am sooo glad to be alive. This bump on the head knocked me into intense thankfulness. Just imagine how bad it could have been if the glass had shattered? Would I even still be around?

Gotta ice my head now and rest. But first I'll skim this fascinating article.

I am glad you have a diagnosis, treatment plan, and are on your way to a full recovery!
I’ve been worried about you! Take care, and let me know if I can help you in any way.
I have also been diagnosed with PCS, it has been seven months and i show no sign of improvement. What do you recommend to help get my energy levels back and work towards a fitness goal.
Ginny, thanks for your question. I’m so sorry you’re suffering — and for 7 months! What happened to you? As for answering your questions, I think your best bet is asking your neurologist. You are seeing one, aren’t you? I’m just not qualified to reply. I’m learning about Post Concussive Disorder myself and I’m trying to improve my fitness, too, but I can’t work out too rigorously or my head POUNDS and hurts a lot. If you asked me about sugar addiction, I’d have a lot to say. But, I’m planning on bringing some experts on my Gab with the Gurus Radio Show so stay tuned. (I’m waiting for one expert in particular.) Have you had an MRI? Best of luck to you! Feel better!
I am also going through PCS. It has been just about over 1 month since my concussion and I am just now getting to feeling semi normal. Alot of my symptoms are slowly disappearing one by one. COUCH POTATO is definetely the correct medicine, along with lots of water, AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART- HOPE.
I know my doctor said perscribing antidepressants can help the irritability and anxiety I was having, along with helping my insomnia and weird sleeping habits.
Also Pain Pills along with muscle relaxers.
Alot of the issue for me was worrying, that it would never go away, i had to quickly get over this because i came to the conclusion worrying does nothing but only possible prolonging the recovery.
Good luck to all you ladies.
