A very special thanks goes to intrepid reporter Kimberly Hayes Taylor for her thought-provoking story, "Drowning in Sugar," which runs in The Detroit News today.
I hope that this much-needed story — whose subtitle is "Ditching dependency could eliminate mood swings and many other ailments" — will do much to wake people up sugar’s dangers and how you can have a sweeter life without all those sweets.
As a journalist, I can appreciate Kim’s clever lead. Of course, I also liked the fact that she then segued into my story and from there moved into a discussion of five ways that sugar can harm your health.
Kim, thanks so much for your wonderful article and for telling my sour-to-sweet tale and mentioning my book SUGAR SHOCK!
By the way, dear readers, Kim also writes a fabulous, informative health and fitness blog, too.

I couldn’t agree more with the dangers of sugar. My experience is that by being off of all refined sugar, sugar alcohols, and even foods high in natural sugar, that I no longer have the physical cravings for sugar — life is much more peaceful!
