My First Book Signing Was Awesome! Special Thanks to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition!

Wow! My first book signing was amazing!

I’m still sort of awestruck! I’m simply thrilled to announce that by all accounts, my very first book signing, which was held at the Borders at Columbus Circle was a huge success!

It’s kind of mind boggling to even contemplate! We had about a couple of hundred people in attendance; apparently, they ran out of chairs and people had to stand in the back because there was no more sitting space; they sold way more books than the typical book signing (about 140); and we had a heck of a lot of fun.

I want to thank my many wonderful friends, colleagues, fans, family members and supporters for helping to make my first book signing a remarkable event. I’m just so very grateful for the tremendous outpouring of encouragement that I received.

The list of people I need to thank goes on and on and on, but in particular, I must single out the simply amazing, extraordinary Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and founder Joshua Rosenthal over and over again!

Art_joshua_iin_imagesThanks a million, Joshua! Thanks, fellow IIN-ers — both graduates like me and current students!

There’s simply no doubt about it: Joshua and my wonderful IIN community made my book signing momentous. They made it so well attended. They made it such a rewarding first for me. And they made it fun!

My eyes are welling up with tears in gratitude. I’m so incredibly touched and grateful to Joshua for taking time out of the busy class schedule to let students attending classes at Time-Warner Center one of their own (that’s me — I graduated in June from the school) was holding this event at Border’s a couple of flights down.

By the way, Chris, the wonderful coordinator at Border’s and other staffers there were very pleased; my publicist at Berkley Books was quite happy (I think even a little surprised, too); and my friends and family were impressed.

Speaking of family, my mom and cousin were kind enough to fly out just to see me in action and to help out, and I’m just so grateful! My cousin Debbie was simply amazing — she ran around all over New York to help me get ready. My mom even treated a huge group of us to a delectable dinner afterwards at Josie’s on the Upper West Side. (The staffers there were simply remarkable, too. They even placed a copy of my book at the entrance to the restaurant!)

Then all these friends and colleagues showed up for my book signing and helped spread the word — Jill, Wendy, Gina and Ken, Lohkmin, another Ken, John, Sherry, Michelle, JoAnne, Timothy, Inge, etc. Then more fellow IIN-ers showed up too — Dawn, Christine, Lex, Jan, Amanda, Felicia, etc.

More later… Soon, I’ll post some video footage from the event both here and on my website.

Thank you, again, all of you who showed up to give me your support! Thank you again all of you who spread the word about my book signing! I am sooooo grateful!!
