Yesterday, at 7:30 a.m., I appeared on the "Your Morning" show on CN8 in Philadelphia. First, my interviewer Connie Colla (yeah, another Connie, which was cool!) mentioned my book SUGAR SHOCK! and then she asked me about my not-so-sweet sugar past. As usual, I had fun laughing at myself and my not-so-sweet sugar past.
But my goal in appearing was to help educate viewers about the fact that loads of foods have hidden sugars. For instance, Connie was suprised, as I’m sure most Americans will be, to find out that that a tiny container of fruit yogurt may contain roughly 7 teaspoons of sugar.
Later that morning, I had a more in-depth interview, this one from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on "HealthQuest Live," on 900AM-WURD in Philadelphia. It was quite enjoyable to be inteviewed by Sara Lomax-Reese, the host and producer of the show, who had really done her homework to come up with some provocative, stump-Connie questions!
Anyhow, Sara is quite savvy and knowledgeable. What’s more, she’s quite personable and appears to be quite popular with her listeners — a number of whom called in during the latter part of the show.
Hurrah to Sara for tracking me down! And I’m so thrilled to connect with a fellow journalist and IIN classmate! If you’re in Philadelphia, you must listen to her show, "HealthQuest Live," which is even hailed as a "listener favorite."
But the best part — and most surprising "small-world experience" — of being interviewed by Sara was meeting her, because it turned out that we had attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition last year but didn’t even know each other! That was such a heartwarming, wonderful experience.
