After an amazing Day 1 of The Sweeter Holiday Summit with John Assaraf, the program continued on Day 2 with Darrin Zeer, who led us in some time-tested relaxation techniques.
Darrin — the author of 10 books, including Office Yoga — gave us some great tension tamers to do at work. (See list below.)
For too many people, Darrin observed, the thought of relaxing is a stressor.
“To be overwhelmed is the norm,” he pointed out, noting that relaxing becomes something else on the proverbial “to-do” list rather than something restoring and refreshing.
Meanwhile, Darrin made other intriguing points such as these:
- “If we learn to manage our own stress, we change those around us.”
- When we’re out and about this holiday season, “we can either pass around good cheer or our stress. In this season of giving, if we “make giving simple and subtle,” we can change not only our mood, but the mood of those around us.
- “Doing little [relaxing] things throughout the day instead of trying to address it all on a weekend yoga class,” is healthier for our bodies and minds.
- “Whatever you do, breathe consciously.”
