Are You Among the 85 % of People With Low Self-Esteem? It Can Lead to Weight Gain & More

Did you know that a whopping 85 % of people suffer from low self-esteem?
So, if you’re having challenges kicking your bad habits such as sugar addiction, you could be among the more than 85 percent of people, who lack high self-esteem.
In other words, MOST of us don’t have the high self-esteem we need to attract abundance, have rewarding relationships, be happy and achieve fulfillment.
Keep reading, because you’ll get 6 valuable tips below to boost your self-esteem from my friend, the bestselling author Dr. Joe Rubino, creator of the popular Self-Esteem System.
Just think about it.
Since 85 percent of us have “self-esteem deficit” — a phrase coined by Dr. Joe — that means you may:
•Be consumed by fear of failure
•Fail more often than not
•Tend to procrastinate
•Feel unfulfilled, frustrated, angry, unloved, unlovable, nervous or shy
•Be indecisive
•Suffer from many other uncomfortable feelings that prevent us from our realizing full potential
Diminished Self-Esteem isthe #1 cause of not living your dream life, according to Dr. Joe, who has coached thousands around the world to improve their self-esteem.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have self-esteem?
That means:
* You feel happy, valuable, fulfilled
* You feel worthy of many good things life can offer you
* You can easily cope with life’s challenges
* You are productive, and you have personal power
* You feel accepted by others, who consider you worthy of their attention and affection
Because there’s an 85% chance that you, too, experience these unpleasant feelings of low self-esteem every now and then, Dr. Joe was kind enough to share with you 6 tips to raise your self-esteem. (You can get more pointers here.)
1. Identify the source of your low self-esteem. What negative thoughts did you buy into or interpret about yourself? What new interpretations can you create?
2. Create 2 lists — one of your negative qualities and another of your strengths. Figure out ways to work on the qualities you wish to manifest.
3. Identify lingering upsets from your past. Then take action to complete each one and move on with your life in a positive, productive manner.
4. Decide today to forgive yourself and those who have hurt you. Figure out how to resolve your strained relationships.
5. Decide to remove yourself from abusive relationships. Inform people in your life of your commitment to reinvent yourself and notify them that you will no longer permit others to treat you without respect.
6. Create a detailed, newly invented declaration about who you are that addresses every aspect of your self-image.
Dr. Joe can help you more with his popular, life-changing Self-Esteem System, which has helped thousands of people around the world.
You also can learn more about his Self-Esteem Book: The Ultimate Guide to Boost the Most Underrated Ingredient for Success and Happiness in Life.
Just like I seek to help you (and others like you to) Break Free of Your Sugar Addiction, Joe strives to help you:
•Heal your painful past
•Carefully assess your current state of affairs
•Uncover the source of your diminished Self-Esteem
•Find out the #1 Secret to regaining Total Self-Esteem
•Create a vision of a life with No Regrets
•And much more.

Male Models Starve, Binge, Suck Sweets & More

Thanks to the Times Online, you can learn about the self-abuse that some male models inflict.
Get ready to be shocked. As the Times Online tells us:
“Daniel Martin regularly puts his body through hell. For days at a time he restricts fluid intake so severely that the resulting dehydration causes headaches, haziness and overwhelming fatigue. Having trained for weeks like an Olympian with high-intensity circuits, running and weightlifting, he then cuts out exercise for 48 hours and opens a bottle of red wine to drink alone. A six-day carbohydrate-depletion diet, in which he eats little more than chicken and broccoli, leaves his muscles weak and his brain so starved of glycogen, its source of fuel, that he feels dizzy and disorientated when he stands up. He can barely walk, let alone hit the gym. And the reason for this torturous ritual of self-deprivation? Martin is preparing to bare his abs in a photoshoot for the cover of one of Britain’s top-selling men’s magazines.”
The shocking story continues. Please note that the bold face is mine:
“At 33, Martin is a veteran of the fitness model circuit, his finely etched torso having gleamed from the pages of Men’s Health, the market leader, more often than that of any other cover model. He has the body and looks that epitomise what men (and women) have come to perceive as the pinnacle of masculine attractiveness. Part of the allure is that this Adonis-like beauty is seen as somehow attainable through hard work and a sensible diet. While female models are criticised for fuelling the rise in eating disorders by looking underweight, their male counterparts have largely escaped such adverse scrutiny. By and large, we have collectively assumed that those rippling abs represent the result of the kind of gym-dedication and healthy living that can only be admired. Behind the abs, though, is a far from wholesome reality.”
What do you think of this awful trend? Read the rest of this eye-opening story on the Times Online now.

1 Powerful Tip to Break Free of Sugar: Ditch Your Deadly Deprivation Mindset

What’s one of the first thoughts that comes into people’s minds when they decide that they should kick sugar to lose weight, get more energy or boost their libido?
Many people get bummed because they focus on how they’ll be deprived.
They start thinking with longing about their favorite sweets.
Wait a minute!
Feeling bummed that you’ll never get to eat your favorite sweets again is NOT the way to health, happiness, weight loss, energy and a strong se*x dri*ve.
Think about it: Cookies, cakes and candies are NOT worth:
* Gaining a lot of weight
* Feeling moody
* Being wiped out
* Not wanting to get intimate with your honey
* Finding it tough to focus
* Getting diabetes, heart disease or cancer
* Looking older
* Dying before your time
So, Ditch those Deadly Deprivation Feelings!
Every time you begin to think “I don’t want to be deprived,” IMMEDIATELY instead think “I will feel so happy and fulfilled when I reduce sugar.”
Again, your goal is to focus on what you’ll GAIN – and we’re not talking about weight.

Stop Sugar Shock Support Group is Moving Because Ning is Charging – Need Your Ideas

Smart savvy people, we need your help!
We have to find a new free online home for our free Stop Sugar Shock support group and social network. Please give us your ideas.
Here’s the history in brief.
Since 2002, I’ve been offering free support to sugar addicts, hypoglycemics and diabetics.
Initially, we began at Yahoo in KickSugar, where for years, in a warm, inspiring climate, Assistant Moderators and I gave members encouragement, nurturing and motivating words. All the while, the group grew from a handful of members to over 2,000 members.
For my part, KickSugar was a huge focus of mine, and I spent hours to answer questions (often doing research to get answers), hired nutrition experts to answer questions, give guidance, etc. In addition, members gave each other vital support and kindness.
You’re invited to still join Yahoo in KickSugar, because you’ll get lots of helpful emails upon becoming a member. But discussions are no longer held there.
In 2007, after my first book Sugar Shock! came out and much of my time was devoted to giving radio and TV interviews, writing many articles, helping readers, developing programs and more, I turned KickSugar into an announcement site because I just didn’t have time to run it as an discussion group. It then spawned an offshoot group, StopSugarAddiction, with my blessing and help.
Soon after I turned KickSugar into a support group, it began to get plagued by non-related spam, which made running the group a real challenge.
Recently, I moved KickSugar to two places.
First, my friend and sugar-addiction expert/colleague James Hahn II renamed KickSugar to Stop Sugar Shock and moved the group over to Ning to get more functionality. (We’re still seeking people to help us run it.)
In addition, I formed the Smart Habits Fans on Facebook. Please join us there, where you can get daily Smart Habits Tips.
While we had been planning to stay put at Ning, on Tuesday, Ning announced that that all free services are being phased out.
I hope you can understand my resistance to paying again for a service to help people for free.
I always want to offer FREE services to those who cannot afford my private or group coaching or Break Free of Your Sugar Addiction in 6 Weeks Program. By the way, you can get lots of FREE STUFF over at my SugarShock.com website.
Although Ning offers low monthly prices, it’s the principle of the thing. I do not want to pay to give help for free.
So I need your help. Where can we move Stop Sugar Shock? What site has all kinds of functionalities so we can post videos and photos, have a conversational thread. Please check out Stop Sugar Shock over at Ning andSmart Habits Fans at Facebook.
Then please give us your ideas. Also, once we find a place, we’d like some volunteers to help us run it.
Please help me to continue to help people for free at a place that’s free.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Do You Have Passion? I’m Passionate About Bicycling. What About You?

Often, people write to me and tell me that sugar or refined carbs is their “big love.” .
Or, they might mention how eating sugary foods is what they most look forward to.
In other words, they put sweets on a pedestal. And, “treating” themselves with sugary foods or drinks is of utmost importance to their happiness.
Language like that makes me sad.
Because to get sweetness in your life — which is what having a sugar addiction is about, in my opinion — should have nothing to do with the sweets that you eat.
So, I’m off to get sweetness today — and it has nothing to do with sugar.
I’m off shortly to ride my bike, and tomorrow, I’ll both bike and play tennis. These are two of my big passions, and both these sports, exercise and working out are mong the many things that bring lots of sweetness and joy into my life.
What are you passionate about — other than a person? (Although, of course, it’s important to be passionate about a significant other.)
Share with us what activitities bring you passion.
By the way, the photo above is when The Reverend Canon Thomas P. Miller, S.T.M. blessed my bike last month during the Blessing of the Bikes ceremony at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine by The Rverend Canon Thomas P. Miller, S.T.M,
Although I’m a nice Jewish girl, as I mentioned to Rev. Miller, this Blessing of the Bikes event was so much fun and uplifting.
What activities bring you pleasure and make you passionate?
