We had another amazing tele-seminar with artificial sweetener expert Dr. Janet Starr Hull, who is a walking encyclopedia of information.
We covered quite a bit of ground, discussing aspartame, sucralose (Splenda), neotame, Acesulfame-K, sugar alcohols, cyclamates and saccharin, as well as such "natural sweeteners" as honey, maple syrup and barley malt. We even chatted about stevia, the herbal supplement which is used as a sweetener in parts of Asia and south America. .
Again, I’ll use others’ comments to my free, online KickSugar group to tell you about our tele-seminar:
"Great show, Connie" was how Tom Bunnell described our telephone chat, with many of you listening in.
"Your guest was great. Your guest Dr. [Hull] really knows the sweeteners and their dangers — now we do, too. …Enlightenment is the only word I can think of to describe what you are doing–as the world’s peoples become aware of the very real health issues you and your friends are [discussing]. Those of us who have been so fortunate as to have discovered your program… are in [our] own turn becoming enlightened, too.". Great work, Thank You."
Carolyn in Illonis "really enjoyed the teleseminar", too’ that is, until her phone died. (Rest assured, we have replays available at www.GetReplays.com.) She wrote:
"I am a fan of Dr Hull and get her newsletter. It was good to hear her voice and get to know her better. It gave me a kick in the pants to keep with the program and also to stay away from the sugar substitutes. Thanks, Connie!!"
JoAnne then e-mailed me privately to say that she "listened last night to your tele-seminar and was very impressed. I will definitely make it a point to visit weekly, as well as refer family, friends and clients who suffer from sugar addictions. I will also purchase your book, once it is on the market."
And then Cynthia wrote the most surprising, touching e-mail to my free, online KickSugar group–full of remarks that really brought a few tears to my eyes. Frankly, all I can say is "Wow!" about her comments.
With the subject line, "Thank Connie more ways than saying thank you," Cynthia then wrote the following–shown here in its entirety:
"Hi alll sugarfree adventurers, I am writing this email to say that this is a wonderful support group and that Connie Bennett is a wonderful God-sent person to take her time, energy and efforts to put this together for complete strangers to her.
"She has to be wonderful to have that kind of Love for people to cause her to get together all of the wonderful professionals to speak with us and warn us of the dangers of sugar and articicial sweeteners. Last night was another wonderful and informative call."Connie is doing a wonderful job and her assistant [KickSugar moderator] Myra is great as well. I hope that we are all planning or have already signed up for one of Connie’s wonderful programs to personally assist us on our journey. I had the honor of receiving a compli-[mentary private consultation/coaching session wit] Connie the other night, which inspired me immensly."After speaking with her, I was even more inspired to continue this journey to become sugarfree. The small price that she is asking for her [private coaching/consultation] services are mere peanuts in comparison to the health benefits that can derive with her support. I am joining one of her programs and I am also signed up to be an affilitate to her programs, because this info is urgently important."Where else could we find this [much] information without having to pay or do some major research? So please all join me in thanking Connie and Myra for their support. Nowhere have I found this much support and information for free–so please do your best to give Connie some financial support for all of her efforts and services. ‘The people that Connie has enlisted to speak with us are all tops in their professions."
I promise you–scout’s honor!–that I had nothing to do with Cynthia’s next pleas–for which I’m truly grateful and which I’m only excerpting here:
"..Dig deep into your bank account… Just a small donation from each of us will, I am sure, go a long way in keeping this program afloat. Let’s not take her efforts for granted, because this is [such an unusual] group dedicated solely to helping us get rid of one of our favorite junks that we put into our bodies."So, in my humble opinion, I think Connie Bennett deserves more than just a verbal or email written thank you, but she also should receive a financial token of appreciation. Just so you know, I will definitely be sending Connie [that myself]. So please take out your credit cards and forward some financial support to our kick-sugar cheerleader Connie Bennett."This request is unsolicited by Connie. This is just my own opinion and I hope this request does not offend anyone. Thanks for helping Connie keep this wonderful project going."
Frankly, I’m speechless at these wonderful words. Cynthia is right in that the tele-seminars do require a significant financial commitment on my part.
