I do NOT like to be on camera in any way!
Can you relate?
In short, I dislike:
* Doing videos
* Doing Facebook lives
* Creating Vlogs (video blog posts)
* Doings Photo shoots or having my photo taken
It’s weird. I wasn’t always this way.
But now, you name it, as soon as anyone picks up a camera, I want to hide my head.
My dislike of photos, videos, etc. kicked up big time after what I now call My Bittersweet Last Year with Mom. (That’s also when I turned to carbs as if they were my long-lost friends. Which, of course, they weren’t. Of course, that led to a weight gain of 21 pounds, which took a while to shed.)
Here’s why I’m writing about my video and photo phobia.
From working with and emailing so many of you, I know that I’m not alone.
Many of you feel just like I do — especially after you’ve gained weight.
Here’s the catch, though, with my disliking doing videos, taking photos, etc.
I want and intend to serve millions.
People like you who’ve blown your diets (as I did) need and want my help.
But if I’m going help millions — as I am planning to do before and after publication of my next book, I blew my diet! Now what? — I NEED to do lots of videos, Facebook lives, and vlogs (video blog posts), as well as take umteen pictures.
So here’s what I’ve decided to do.
First, I’m going to come clean, which is what I’m doing now.
Next, darn it — I WILL lick my dislike of doing photos, etc.
I’m on the way to NO MORE HIDING!!!
So I’m going to take you along on my uncomfortable ride to SMASH my skittishness about videos, photos, etc.
Will you please cheer me on?
In short, today is the blog post in which I’ll take you “Behind the Scenes.”
You’ll discover what an author/speaker/health expert needs to do to really help her peeps. (That’s you.)
But I’m also coming to you today for your support, encouragement and laughter.
Yeah, feel free to chuckle at my discomfort. It is pretty funny.
FYI, tomorrow morning, I’m taking my first vacation in years. I’ll share about it later.
So what about you?
Do cameras make me freeze and want to hide?
Please share here if you too, feel uncomfortable being on camera — such as doing videos, taking photos or getting on Facebook lives.
