This article makes me wish I’d been in Minnesota this week to hear a lecture from Margaret Adamek, Ph.D., founder and director of the Sugar Project and Special Projects Director at the University of Minnesota’s Center for Urban and Regional Affairs.
Sounds like a fascinating evening as Dr. Adamek spoke about, as the Crookston Daily Times explained, "dysfunctional foods – refined carbohydrates and sugars in particular – and their profound effects on people."
Dr. Adamek, who is a fan of Kathleen DesMaisons, Ph.D. (a pioneer, who has done much good work to educate people about sugar sensitivity in the field of addictive nutrition), is another success story herself. Once plagued by some of the same symptoms that many of us have been battling, Maggi — who I had the pleasure of interviewing for my book SUGAR SHOCK! –– changed her diet and now is a wonderful advocate to get the word out about the dangers of sugars and refined carb.
