An interesting study, "Exceptional Longevity in Men," just came out in the of Archives of Internal Medicine, which found that men with healthy habits live much longer.

It certainly wasn’t surprising that men were at increased risks for dying before age 90 if they had bad habits such as these:
- Smoking, HR 2.10 (95% CI 1.75 to 2.51)
- Diabetes, HR 1.86 (95% CI 1.52 to 2.26)
- Obesity (body mass index of at least 30), HR 1.44 (95% CI 1.10 to 1.90)
- Hypertension, HR 1.28 (95% CI 1.15 to 1.43)
- Exercise, HR 0.72 (95% CI 0.62 to 0.83)
Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like sugar or carb intake was considered, too.
