The U.K. Enforces Ban on Junk Food Advertising

It’s absolutely fascinating what they’re rolling out over in the United Kingdom in terms of setting up restrictions — albeit controversial — to on advertising junk foods to children. Phase one rolled out yesterday "after much heated debate," according to Jess Halliday of FoodNavigator.com.

Interestingly, in 12 months, they’re going to review the impact of a "nutrient profiling model."
I wonder: Is it ever feasible to have a law such as this get passed in the the U.S.? My suspicions are that the advertising industry over here and the food companies are too ppowerful to ever let this happen. But, hey, you never know.
