Add Muhammad Ali to the growing list of celebrities endorsing allegedly healthy alternatives to junk food.
The famed former heavyweight champion will license reduced-fat snack foods (under 150 calories) under the acronym GOAT for Greatest of All Time, the New York Times recently reported.
The treats, aimed at teens and twenty-somethings, will be lower in fat and calories than standard snack-rack fare, and will have boxing names like Jab and Shuffle and be in signature shapes like boxing gloves and punching bags.
Of course, I haven’t seen the ingredients list, but I suspect that these GOAT products — whose backers include Mars Inc. — might not be all that healthy. But we won’t know until the products hit grocery stores nationwide.
