Yet another interesting study, this one from researchers at Children’s Hospital Boston, just showed that cutting back on sugary drinks can peel off the pounds.
Thanks to Health Day ‘s Kathleen Doheny for alerting me to this fascinating study.
Just listen to the study’s lead author’s conclusions about the miraculous weight-loss benefits of taking in less soda:
"Simply decreasing sugar-sweetened beverage consumption seems to be a promising strategy for preventing and treating obesity," said Cara Ebbeling, co-director of obesity research in the division of endocrinology at Children’s Hospital Boston.
Sure enough, these findings — which were published in the journal Pediatrics — do directly refute the soda manufacturers, who emphatically claim that soda doesn’t lead to weight gain.
