With the holiday season upon us, many people tend to ignore their own needs and instead focus on what gifts to get their loved ones, what friends and family members to entertain or console, or what foods (usually junk!) to serve at parties. But this is a time of year when it’s really important to take care of yourself — perhaps more so than any other time of the year.
So join us tomorrow morning at 9 am EST for a special Stop SUGAR SHOCK! Radio Show devoted to Smart Self Care: Don’t Rob Yourself! Tips to Treat Yourself Regally.
Please note that the show is at a different day and time this week, but remember: If you miss the show live, you can listen afterwards, at your convenience.
My guests for the "Smart Self Care" program will be two very special women — acclaimed natural foods chef Andrea Beaman, HHC and "Get Thin for the Camera" coach Donna Sonkin, HHC, AADP, both of whom I had the pleasure of meeting and befriending, thanks to the innovative Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where we all went to school. (Andrea serves on the faculty there now and is one of the most popular instructors.)
In this special Stop SUGAR SHOCK! Radio Show, Andrea, Donna and I will cover a variety of topics, including the need for "me" time; the types of foods that are preferable to eat; the value of chewing your food; the importance of understanding food labels; the role of exercise and pursuing passions; the benefits of meditation; and the need for ample sleep.
We’ll also discuss the fact that many people in the healing and health counseling profession tend to neglect their own needs.
Now for more info about these two inspirational women.
