Learn now how to Crush Your Cravings by applying (not taking) what I call Smart M.E.D.S.
- M stands for Meditate; Move to Music and Motivate with the Masters. One or all three are excellent ways to start the day. Don’t worry, though. You can do all three of these activities in as little as 5 to 10 minutes. To begin, it’s ideal if you meditate before you even get out of bed. You can do this in short spurts of three to 10 minutes, if you like. The research on the power of meditation is massive and growing, and even as little as a few minutes can benefit you tremendously. Meditation can even help you lose weight. In addition, you’ll boost your mood by moving soon after you wake up. All you need to do is listen to one uplifting tune, and sure enough, the melody will lift your spirits and put you in the frame of mind to succeed. Then, you can take a minute or even less to read a quote from one of your favorite inspiring, spiritual leaders. (Check back here for weekly Next you can let music lift your spirits for even one song. Finally
- E means Exercise doing physical activities you enjoy; Eat Energy Foods; and Embrace Your Emotions. The benefits of exercise are many, including making you reduce your desire for unhealthy junk foods, but, remember, you can’t work out the junk foods. Of course, it’s also important to eat Mother Nature’s Carb Gifts (as I call them) — you know foods like kale, collards and celery (preferably organic), along with quality sources of protein and fat(s). Then, you want to make sure to find accept what you’re feeling by entering into observer mode. My favorite — and a very powerful and cleansing way to do this — is by tapping. (That’s EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique). You can learn about tapping here, during my Gab with the Gurus interview with Nick Ortner, author of The Tapping Solution.
- D is for Dream Big, Do Sweet-Talk, Self-Talk and Do My Simple 7 D’s. While you segue into a sweeterlicious (sweeter, delicious, and luscious) life, you want to take your thoughts away from junk foods and instead dwell on your bold dreams. At the same time, you want to do affirmations and Sweet-Talk, Self-Talk. That means you pat yourself on the back and applaud yourself for beginning to care for your body with pride. For instance, you could tell yourself, “I’m so proud of myself that I’m letting go of my unhealthy sugar habit.” In addition, if temptation strikes, you can do My Simple 7 D’s. For now, that means Delay, Distance, Distract, Decode, Decide, Diss and Delight. (More about that later.)
- S stands for the all-important Seek Support; Sleep Enough and Shower Yourself with Love and Self-Compassion. The “S.” in “M.E.D.S.” is vital, because to truly succeed — and to do so effortlessly — you need ample support from others, who’ve kicked sugar and dangerous carbs. You also must get ample Z’s. Plus, if you do sleep from time to time, which most of you may do, you always want to kindly forgive yourself.
So are you ready to Take Your Smart M.E.D.S?
