Have you heard that Rachel Ray — who promotes Dunkin’ Donuts (which, unlike most Americans, I do not love) — is the top-earning chef, bringing home some $18 million a year?
This new Forbes list of 10 top earners has the blogosphere abuzz.
So here’s what I’d like to know: How many of these chefs use only fresh, local, organic foods? And how many of them give much thought to the fact that quality food can lead to good health?
Thoughts?
By the way, did you hear what author and celeb chef Anthony Bourdain said about Rachel’s endorsement of Dunkin’ Donuts? " It’s like endorsing crack for kids," he griped.
"I’m not a very ethical guy. I don’t have a lot of principles. But somehow that seems to me over the line. Juvenile diabetes has exploded. Half of Americans don’t have necks. And [Rachael’s[ up there saying, ‘Eat some [bleeping] Dunkin’ Donuts. You look great in that swimsuit — eat another doughnut!’ That’s evil.”
