24 Million Americans Have Diabetes, CDC Finds

Sad news indeed. A whopping 24 million Americans now have diabetes as of 2007. That’s an increase of 3 million people in a mere two years, according to new data released by the CDC.

What’s more, the CDC estimates, another 57 million people have pre-diabetes, which means they’re at risk of developing full-blown diabetes.

Interestingly though, one positive bit of news exists amidst the scary statistics: The number of people who have diabetes but don’t it has dropped slightly — from 30% to 25%. Of course, finding out that you have the disease is the first step so that you can take action to reverse or at least manage it.

Naturally, the best news would be if the number of people developing type 2 diabetes dropped. And one of the sure-fire ways to reduce your risk of the disease is to quit those culprit carbs and to eat healthy foods instead. You can learn more in my book SUGAR SHOCK!
