How the years have flown. My Sugar Shock Blog had its 15-year anniversary a few months ago while I was on deadline for my next book, I blew my diet! Now what? Stop Blaming Yourself, Crush Your Cravings and Slim Down for Good. Inside: Your 21-Day Bounce-Back Plan.
See my first blog post here on June 7, 2005.
First, let me share my perspective. I’m an experienced journalist, former sugar addict, health coach, life coach, Sugar Freedom Coach, and sugar expert, who has researched three books about the dangers of sugars and refined carbs, how to quit sweets, and how to bounce back after you blew your diet. My goals for this blog are:
- To give you tips and tactics to let go of your sugar or carb addiction.
- To share valuable information and tactics to help you maintain blood sugar control.
- To help you, if you feel “trapped” by your habit of eating too many sweets and refined, Much-Like-Sugar carbs.
- To tell you about marketing programs that Big Food and Big Sugar have launched (ones that are both encouraging and discouraging.)
- To bring you up to speed on the movement to boot soda, candy, and junk food out of our nation’s schools.
- To share intriguing, relevant, up-to-date information on new research relating to both sugars and artificial sweeteners.
- To update you on important legal, political, and financial developments relating to the sweetener industry.
- To entertain and even amuse you.
- To inspire you to examine your consumption patterns of sugars and refined carbohydrates and to explore whether or not your heavy habit might be harming your health, moods, and relationships.
- To encourage you to consider kicking processed sweets and refined, fast-acting, quickie carbs (like white bread, white rice, and refined pasta) so that you can become more healthy, happy, and focused.
- To update you about my appearances on TV shows, podcasts, radio stations.
- To let you know about my interviews with health and empowerment experts on my Gab with the Gurus Show.
- To help you discover, as I have, that Life is Sweeter Without Sweets(TM). (Please note that I’m still a big advocate of natural sugars, and I enjoy small amounts of blueberries, apples, and other berries.)
- To invite you to free, informative podcasts and teleseminars, during which I’ll interview some top doctors, researchers, and nutritionists. (Coming up.)
- To connect with you. In fact, I invite you to share your thoughts about this blog and its many entries.
